A Black Christmas

Written by Kartez, Jamie, & Noa Addison

About the Authors

First time authors Kartez and Jamie Addison followed their daughter, Noa’s lead when pondering who should be the focus of their new children’s book. Their cue came with Noa’s first  word —not mommy, not daddy; but Ash, the family’s pet mini-poodle.  Inspired by Noa’s first word, the Addison’s set out to create a story about Ash that is fun, engaging and inspirational. Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri, this actor/writer (Jamie) and rapper/musician (Kartez) combination used their skill from their backgrounds to create their first children’s short story “A Black Christmas”.

About Breast Friends

Tag along for baby’s first adventure to the nursery! While meeting new friends and bonding over yummy snacks is loads of fun, what baby wants most is to return to mommy’s tender arms to eat the best baby food, a special treat that only she can offer.

Cheers to trying new things with new friends, but never forgetting our first best friend who has all that we want and need – mommy.

This beautifully illustrated children’s book honors the unique bond between mother and child. It advocates for normalizing breastfeeding by affirming that breastfeeding is a cherished experience across a diverse range of cultures. While it celebrates breastfeeding it also validates alternative ways of providing your little one with nutritious baby food.

“Breast Friends”, as the title suggests, not only explores breastfeeding but also the joy of friendship. The book culminates with a special poem dedicated to mommy as a token of appreciation to baby’s first BFF.
